2nd suspect in custody for downtown Raleigh robberies
RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The second suspect wanted in connection with the May 28 robbery of people who waited to buy new sneakers has been arrested.
Raleigh Police said Thursday that Ervin Sherwood Sanders III, 18, of Raleigh, was taken into custody without incident and has been taken to the Wake County Detention Center. He is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon.
Officials said the crimes happened around 6:30 a.m. in City Market in downtown Raleigh.

The robbery happened outside the 300 block of Parham Street where police say several customers were waiting in line to buy new Air Jordans when the store, Social Status, opened.
Two armed suspects rounded the corner from Wolfe Street and robbed a customer, taking money and personal items, according to police. The suspects then fled on foot as victims began to disperse, including one who drove away in his vehicle.
Police say that victim then hit at least one of the suspects with his vehicle near the intersection of South Person and East Martin Streets.

The two suspects fled again on foot to the 800 block of South East Street where one of the suspects, Jashon Marquis Estes, 19, was arrested. He was taken to WakeMed for injuries after being hit by the vehicle.
Estes was later charged by police with 3 counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, 1 count of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, and 1 count of assault by pointing a gun. He was taken to the Wake County Detention Center.
