One killed, one injured in Johnston County wreck

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A 23-year-old man was killed after his car hit a ditch and overturned on Government Road in Johnston County Thursday night.

Highway Patrol responded to the call just before 11 p.m.

Troopers said Robert Anthony Tutor Jr., of 8316 White Oak Road in Garner, was going east when the car crossed the center line, went off the roadway and onto the westbound shoulder. It then hit a ditch and flipped.

Tutor was ejected and died at the scene. A passenger in the car, 29-year-old Brittany Michelle Madey, of Raleigh, was taken to Wake Medical Center with serious injuries.

Investigators said speed and alcohol were factors.
