'Scandal' cast talks about explosive season finale while in New York
NEW YORK -- There was a dramatic and explosive season finale to one of ABC's highest rated shows, "Scandal".
The finale was also a top trender on social media.
The end of season four was so shocking; it surprised even the star of the show.
"All the drugs in the world could not make my brain as creative as the writers on our show. They are just out of this world and I love it because we get to be consistently shocked and awed episode after episode, season after season," Kerry Washington said.
The cast came to the Paley Center for Media in Midtown Manhattan to talk about their hit show in a forum moderated by "GMA's" Lara Spencer: "A School for 'Scandal'" and a sign of respect for all they have achieved.
"We're very proud to be in such good company here at this building and having this talk," Washington said.
But what's the talk in the nation's capital about the show set there?
That's what viewer Al Montgomery asked Sandy Kenyon on Facebook to ask him.
"People in DC are massive Scandal fans. I did have someone at a party in DC come up to me and say 'you are a terrible president.' So I was like, 'Well, don't vote for me!'" Goldwyn said.
Cast members said they get the better part of two months away from the show but any planning beyond that, they leave to Shonda Rimes who created "Scandal".
"I've gotten out of the game of trying to predict what Shonda will do because I'm always wrong. 100 percent of the time," Josh Malina said.
"My hope is, well my hope is always that I survive," Joe Morton said.
"I've got a lot of questions about what's going to be in store. Yeah. (Are you expecting any answer before you read the first script?) Definitely not," Darby Stanchfield said.
"What's next for Olivia Pope?" Sandy Kenyon asked.
"I wish I knew. I wish I had any idea what is next," Washington said.
