Accident involving school bus in Orange County

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Chapel Hill Carrboro Schools bus was involved in an accident at Bethel Hickory Grove Church and Jo Mac Roads in Orange County Tuesday afternoon.

Pictures from the scene showed a car with rear-end damage.

Some of the 37 students on board were checked out at the scene, but there were no reports of serious injuries.

A substitute bus took the kids back to McDougle Elementary for parents to pick them up there.

Investigators said the car involved missed the turn onto Jo Mac Road and was backing up. The bus couldn't stop in time and rear-ended the car.
