1 detained after possible explosive device found during child porn investigation in TX home: officials
Authorities said bomb technicians were called to the scene
HARRIS COUNTY -- A person is in custody after a search warrant was executed in a child pornography case that led to the discovery of a device believed to be an explosive on Thursday, according to Precinct 1 authorities.
Authorities confirmed child pornography, related to an ongoing investigation, was found inside the home, but something unexpected was also uncovered. When investigators were executing the search warrant, deputies reportedly saw a suspicious device with a wick upon entering.
Harris County, Texas Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen said a person who occupies the home told everyone to get out via a camera while deputies were inside the house.
Rosen said that one of the two people initially detained told law enforcement that they made the device - which Rosen described as resembling a pipe bomb, wrapped with foil, electrical tape, and screws.

Precinct 1 authorities later updated that only one person was in custody in relation to the bizarre incident.
Authorities previously said bomb technicians were called to the scene and they examined and secured the device, adding that there is no threat to the community.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad later said that the suspicious device was an "improvised device of tightly wound fireworks."
Precinct 1's Jeff McShan confirmed the man in custody is Justin Hogue, 36. He faces three felony counts of possession of child pornography after authorities said they found more than 500 images and videos inside an electronic device inside the home.
