Durham police investigate deadly shooting on Melbourne Street
Durham police are investigating a fatal shooting that left one man dead.
DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- Durham police are investigating a fatal shooting that left one man dead Thursday afternoon.
Officers responded around 4:19 p.m. to a report of a person suffering from a gunshot wound. When they arrived in the area, police found an adult man with an injury in the 2500 block of Ross Road.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Durham police said the shooting is believed to have occurred in the 300 block of Melbourne Street. Investigators remained at the scene Wednesday working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Officials have not released the victim's identity or provided additional details about a possible suspect.
