Man killed, woman injured in Wake County shooting, deputies say
Deputies responded to a shooting on Damascus Drive near Wendell.
One person is dead, and another is injured Thursday after a shooting in Wake County.
Deputies responded to a shooting in the 1240 block of Damascus Drive, near Wendell. They found a man -- identified as Kristopher Cruz, 28 -- with a gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
They also found woman with a gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Authorities are on the scene working to learn the circumstances surrounding the incident.
No one is in custody yet. There is no active search for a suspect.
