2 Raleigh sweepstakes parlors robbed in 6 hours
Two men robbed two Wake County sweepstakes parlors in a span of six hours, according to the Raleigh Police Department.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Police are investigating two armed robberies at two sweepstakes parlors in Raleigh overnight.

A surveillance camera captured one of the robberies on video.

It showed a relatively quiet night at the H&L Business Center on Glenwood Avenue.

Until 3:43 a.m. when a woman walked in. Then, just minutes later, two men walked up from the same direction. Seconds later, the woman opened the door and left as the two men rushed in.

A minute and a half later, the two men ran out with what appeared to be the cash drawer.

Police didn't say how much money the thieves got away with but hours before that robbery, they were investigating a similar incident on Western Boulevard.

Police responded to Skillmasters in that area just after 10 p.m.

Police say two armed men robbed the business and ran away with the money.

Both businesses are considered sweepstakes parlors. That's where people can buy services like3 internet access in exchange for prizes.

Both robberies involved men who were armed. Police are working to determine whether they were related.
