North Carolina's U.S. Senate candidates are continuing to campaign across the state as what is expected to be one of the nation's most expensive races begins to take shape.
The former North Carolina governor adds his name to list of candidates that includes Republican Michael Whatley.
The former North Carolina governor announced on X Monday morning that he is running for Senate.
"I'm not sitting down, am I?"
The former congressman will drop out of the US Senate race and endorse fellow Democrat Roy Cooper, sources told ABC11.
"Governor Cooper would be making his intentions known in the coming days," a spokesperson for Cooper said in a statement.
