RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Repair work on a sinkhole that has been causing traffic troubles in south Raleigh since last week is expected to take longer than anticipated.

The DOT says they won't finish repair work until at least early next week.

That means road closures will remain in place until then.

Crews need to replace a three-foot diameter pipe under southbound Hammond Road at Rush Street.

In the meantime, the detour down South Saunders Street and Garner Road will remain in place.
