PHOTOS: Grandmother with cancer writes own touching obituary

Emily Phillips, a grandmother who died from cancer at age 69, spelled out simple but beautiful memories in her self-written obituary being read by thousands.
She detailed her childhood with vidid memories, including her time as a beauty queen, when she wasa baton-twirling contestant in the Miss North Carolina pageant.
Phillips outlined all the roles she loved getting to play: daughter, teenager, graduate, wife, mother, teacher, friend and grandmother.
