Ray Svejnoha, a 100-year-old World War II veteran, got the surprise of a lifetime from some high school students.
The teens learned that Svejnoha, who lives at Independence Village in Naperville, Ill., had never been to a prom because he was deployed a few months before graduation.

Students from the Tech Connect service club at Matea Valley High School in Aurora regularly visit Svejnoha and have established a bond with him.
The creative teens then cook up the idea to do a 'promposal' of sorts and invite him to their prom, 82 years after he missed his.

The fanfare came with community involvement. Businesses donated everything from the tuxedo to flowers and even. transportation.

Svejnoha was seen dancing and having a good time at his 'first prom.'

When given a chance to speak during the prom, Svejnoha told the teens he loved them and thanked everyone for making the occasion special.
