Small plane crash in Burke County under investigation, FAA says

BURKE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Federal officials are investigating a small plane crash in western North Carolina involving a flight instructor and a student.

New video shows the aircraft losing control during a takeoff attempt before veering off the runway and coming to rest in a ditch.

Authorities said the instructor suffered minor injuries in the crash. No other injuries were immediately reported.

The Federal Aviation Administration is now working to determine what caused the incident.
