Man charged in Wayne County shooting death

GOLDSBORO, NC (WTVD) -- The Wayne County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in a shooting death this past weekend.

Deputies said they were called around 12:30 a.m. Saturday to a business on Highway 117 South. Joshua Omar Forbes, 25, of Day Circle, was found shot to death in a car.

Investigators said Forbes had gone to a home on Bryan Boulevard and gotten into a confrontation with a person. There was a gunshot, and Forbes ran back to his vehicle and said that he'd been hit.

The others in the vehicle started to take him to the hospital, but he died on the way.

Detectives have now charged 24-year-old Matthew Craig Moyers of Southwinds Drive in Dudley with murder.

He was being held without bond in the Wayne County jail.
