Ohio drug kingpin dies in jail

ATLANTA (AP) - A fugitive who was arrested after being featured on "America's Most Wanted" has died in the DeKalb County jail.

The sheriff's office said 28-year-old Umoja Iddi Bakari apparently killed himself by hanging himself with a T-shirt from a door hinge. An autopsy will be performed to determine the official cause of death.

Bakari, was arrested in DeKalb Tuesday on charges that he was an Ohio drug kingpin.

Authorities say Bakari had been injured in a fight with his cellmate, which began after Bakari broke a sprinkler head and flooded a pod of cells. Bakari was placed in a booth designed for attorney-client meetings so that he would not be with other inmates. Bakari was found hanging from the door in the booth.
