The military will break ground Monday on a new headquarters building at Fort Bragg. It marks the beginning of a huge new expansion at the base that will bring new commands and thousands of soldiers to Fayetteville. The new headquarters building will be home to the U.S. Army Forces Command and the Army Reserve Command. They're currently located at Fort McPherson, Ga.

The Pentagon is moving the commands to Bragg under the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure law in an attempt to save money.

The 700,000-square-foot, $300 million building should open in July 2011.

The move will add about 20,000 soldiers and civilians to Bragg.
