Police arrest suspected serial robber

WAKE COUNTY Two months ago, two armed men held up a Subway off Wake Forest Road.

Their identities remained a mystery until now. Raleigh Police arrested 20-year-old Dexter Maxwell and his partner in crime, according to police, 18-year-old Steven Sylvester.

Sylvester is also charged in connection with 11 armed robberies --most he performed alone.

Police say Sylvester hit up restaurants and convenience stores in northeast Raleigh, mostly along Capital Boulevard.

One victim, Colleen Seebo, describes being robbed at gun point.

"I have a daughter and all I could think of was what was going to happen to my daughter," Seebo said.

After threatening employees, Sylvester would steal hundreds of dollars over the two month period. He racked up more than $2,000, according to arrest warrants.

Sylvester is in jail on a $2 million bond. He's expected in court on Monday.
