Authorities say the boy appeared to have been injured by a stray bullet to the buttocks.
The boy, whose name is not being released, was transported to Duke Hospital with a serious injury.
The incident is still under investigation.
Investigators do not have any motive or suspect descriptions at this time. No further information is available.
