Scott Morris had been a person of interest in the case since his wife went missing.
Meanwhile, the house the couple once shared has been signed into foreclosure.
The house in Stem was burned on the same day Kelly Currin Morris was reported missing in September 2008.
Her remains were found last month near Sam Moss Hayes Road in Creedmoor.
In addition to the murder charge, Scott Morris is also accused of fraudulently burning their home.
