Bragg will convert the incoming lane at the Yadkin Road gate. The HOV lane is for cars carrying two or more people and will open in January.
The goal is to reduce the number of cars that cause gridlock.
More than 150,000 automobiles enter Fort Bragg on a daily basis. By 2015, those numbers are expected to significantly increase. Fort Bragg will grow from its current 50,000 soldiers and civilians to about 70,000 by 2013, making it the largest Army post in terms of population.
