Benjarman James Carraway, 22, was charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury.
Police said Carraway shot Christmas Whitfield on Tuesday. Whitfield was later treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Carraway was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $125,000 secured bond.
