Officers were called to 5522 Bragg Boulevard at 4:44 a.m. and found 45-year-old Wayne Washington of Fleishman Street lying on the ground.
After getting a good description of the suspect and his vehicle, police say they were able to quickly track down the man they were looking for.
They arrested 38-year-old Robert Eugene Blue, Jr. of Grooms Street.
He was booked into the Cumberland County Detention Center on a first-degree murder charge without bond.
