The post in November, 2010 by "ljackerson" asks if there is any way to retrieve deleted messages or restore a closed account.
"My ex, whom I have children with, got into my current email account and started using my email to slander me. I need the past account activity to prove it in court and to our court ordered psychological evaluator, for our child custody suite. How can I achieve this?" wrote the person.
ABC11 showed the post to the brother of 27-year-old Laura Jean Ackerson who told us he believes it was from her.
Court records show Ackerson was locked in a bitter custody dispute over their two children with ex-boyfriend Grant Hayes in 2010.
Investigators say Ackerson last saw her children, who lived with their father in Raleigh, on July 13. She was supposed to pick them up again the following Friday at a meeting spot in Wilson, but Hayes said she never showed up. That's according to Hayes' mother.
A coworker contacted police when Ackerson didn't show up for work the next Monday.
Hayes, 32, and his wife, 39-year-old Amanda Perry Hayes, are both charged with first-degree murder in her death. Investigators say they believe Ackerson was killed in North Carolina and Hayes and his wife took her body to Texas in ice coolers before dumping it in a creek near Houston.
Memorial services for Ackerson were held at Grace Fellowship Church in Kinston this past weekend. Hayes and his wife are being held without bond.
