Todd Fair was dismissed by Johnston County Sheriff Steve Bizzell in October, 2010 for sending inappropriate photos of himself to a high school student.
The student attended West Johnston High School, where Fair had been assigned.
Warrants allege the incident occurred on March 1, 2009.
Fair had been with the sheriff's office for 10 years
He was given a 3 to 4 month sentence, suspended on the condition he remain on probation for 18 months. He was also ordered to surrender his law enforcement certification and never contact the victim.
