Police charged Joseph Rechel, 55, with felony hit and run Friday. The arrest is in connection with the incident that happened on South Saunders Street near Maywood Drive that left 32-year-old Melissa Johnson dead.
Police were searching for a dark-colored, mid-sized pick-up truck with front-end damage.
Friday they found Rechel's Ford Ranger on Leonard Street in Raleigh.
The arrest comes the same day as Johnson was laid to rest.
Rechel was released on bond Friday nght.
