Teen arrested after skipping school

APEX, NC

It began just after 2 p.m. when the principal at Apex High School noticed two students stumbling and apparently intoxicated. Officials said 17-year-old Josue Hernandez and an unidentified 15-year-old apparently left campus and consumed alcohol. The principal spotted them when they returned to the school to get on the bus home.

He took them to the office, where officials reported Hernandez became belligerent and the school resource officer was called.

The school resource officer attempted to restrain Hernadez - of E Chatham Street, Apex - but he became combative and more officers were called to the disturbance.

Hernandez was arrested and taken to Western Wake Hospital for treatment.

He was charged with resisting arrest, assault on a female for allegedly assaulting an EMS worker, damage to property for allegedly damaging a police vehicle, and drunk and disruptive.
