Obama picks UConn to win it all

President Barack Obama went with undefeated UConn to beat Notre Dame in the final and win it all in completing his NCAA women's tournament bracket for ESPN on Friday.

The president had previously selected Stanford and Louisville to round out his Final Four on Tuesday.

This is the fifth straight year Obama has publicly provided his bracket for the women's tournament.

The president believes UConn can win a ninth national championship. Last year he stood behind a Baylor repeat, but the Lady Bears were stunningly ousted in the Sweet 16.

UConn went on to beat Louisville to win the title. The Huskies enter this year's tournament with a 34-0 record.

Notre Dame enters the tournament with a 33-0 mark and, like UConn, is a No. 1 seed. The Fighting Irish are vying for a fourth straight Final Four appearance.

The president did not pick the other top seeds, South Carolina and Tennessee, to reach the Final Four. Instead, he picked 2-seed Stanford and 3-seed Louisville, which reached the 2013 title game as a 5-seed. The Cardinal are twice national runners-up, also to UConn in 2009.

The women's tournament begins Saturday and concludes April 9 with the national championship game in Nashville, Tenn.
