Missing toddler identified as drowning victim in Moore County

MOORE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Moore County Sheriff's Office said a missing 23-month-old boy drowned in a pond near Carthage on Thursday.

Deputies received a report around 4:15 p.m. Thursday that Rylan Ott, 23 months, had been missing for more than 30 minutes.

After a search involving multiple emergency units, a deputy found Ott in a pond near the family's residence.

Authorities said Ott was taken to Moore Regional Hospital where he died.

The Sheriff's Office is still investigating the incident.
