WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WTVD) -- A 3-year-old has died after deputies said he was pulled from a pond near Wake Forest on Friday.
According to the Wake County Sheriff's Office (WCSO), deputies responded to a possible drowning call around 12:40 p.m. on Hasentree Way, which is near Wake Forest.
The WCSO said first responders provided life-saving measures to the toddler before he was hospitalized.
On Saturday, authorities said the toddler died from his injuries.
"On behalf of our office, I extend our condolences to the family during this difficult time. We stand alongside them and the community as they navigate this loss," Sheriff Willie Rowe said.
