Governor talks high speed rail

RALEIGH Perdue said North Carolina is seeking more than $5 billion in stimulus money.

Officials plan to use the money to improve rail service between Charlotte and Washington D.C.

They also want to add a second set of tracks between Raleigh and Charlotte.

About $8 billion in high-speed rail grants are available nationwide.
