Durham teen critically injured in car crash

DURHAM

Police said 16-year-old Noah Bacon, a student at Roxboro Community School, was driving to school when he lost control of his vehicle in a curve near Bonnie Drive.

The vehicle then crossed the center line and went into a yard in the 300 block of Goodwin Road where it struck a tree.

Bacon was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be cut out of the wreckage by firefighters.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment of critical injuries.

Police said, at this point, it does not appear that the accident was weather-related. There was also no indication that Bacon was speeding at the time of the crash.
