Police seek help in solving 2009 Durham murder

DURHAM

Officers found 53-year-old Ronald Fetherson stabbed to death inside his apartment on the 1200 block of Truman Street on August 30, 2009.

Neighbors last saw Fetherson alive around 8 p.m. on August 29, 2009. Back then, they described him as a friendly man who was a veteran and who loved his dog. They said they are anxious for an arrest in the case.

ABC11 went back to that neighborhood Monday and found a few people still living there since his murder.

One woman said she mainly remembers the dog barking that night. She has since realized the dog may have been trying to alert someone Fetherson was in trouble. She also remembers Fetherson argued with a friend or possible roommate not long before he was found dead.

However, there have been no leads in the past four years.

ABC11 spoke to Fetherson's sister who said she hopes police find her brother's killer.

Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator D. West at (919) 560-4440, ext. 29341 or CrimeStoppers at (919) 683-1200.
