Nephew of man found dead in Fuquay-Varina describes scene
FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. (WTVD) -- One of the family members who made a grim discovery inside a Wake County home spoke out for the first time Sunday.
The nephew of Arthur Brown, one of two men found dead inside a home on Howard Road in Fuquay-Varina, opened up about the bloody scene that he and several relatives walked into Saturday afternoon.
Brown was inside the home dead, along with his friend, 66-year-old David McKoy.

The Wake County Sheriff's Department is not saying yet how the two men died, but a family member said it looked like the men had been shot, and they believe whoever did this had been here before.
Howard Road in Fuquay-Varina is all family. Several generations live up and down that road and are now using this closeness to lean on each other now more than ever.
"I just don't know who would do something like this to him," said Carl Diggs, the nephew of Arthur Brown. Diggs and an aunt found the 78-year-old dead inside his home in the 200 block of Howard Road. This is where Diggs says Brown lived and based his more than 30-year cement business.
Diggs says he and family members tried calling Brown and knocked on the door. When there was no answer, an aunt found that the sliding glass door in the front was unlocked. That's when she went in and found Brown.
"She started hollering 'Carl! Carl!', when she hollered I ran, I ran over here. I ran straight through to my aunt and uncle's bedroom and I saw my uncle laying on the bed, it was like he was in a kneeling position," said Diggs, who adds it looked like his uncle had been shot in the back.
That gruesome discovery would only lead to another. In the next room, Diggs' cousin found Brown's longtime friend and co-worker, 66 -year-old David McKoy.
"Saw David laying in the bed, had the sheet pulled up like he was just asleep and from what he said it looked like a gunshot wound to the head," said Diggs.
Investigators have been at the home since, and only confirmed that someone did break in.
The family says there were red flags.
Diggs lives across the street, and says Friday morning his dogs wouldn't stop barking at something. And just last Wednesday, he says his uncle and McKoy told him someone broke into their work trucks just outside the home and disconnected the security cameras.
"Whoever this person is, they had to have been there before," said Diggs.
The cameras were reconnected, and Diggs hopes they captured something investigators can use to give him and his family some answers.
Diggs said McKoy worked with his uncle for two decades, and also wondered whether someone was living in an empty trailer behind the property. McKoy told him just the other day that he had found a blanket and a bottle of water.
