Berkeley County teenager dies in weekend ATV accident

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (AP) -- Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury says a teenager has died after the all- terrain vehicle she was riding hit a tree during the Labor Day weekend.



Salisbury says 15-year-old Jasmine Lampkin of the Alvin community was riding an ATV when it hit a tree and she was thrown from the vehicle Sunday.



She flown to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston where she died Monday of a head injury. Salisbury says the victim was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.



Alvin is about 50 miles north of Charleston.
