Body found in Harnett County

BUNNLEVEL, NC (WTVD) -- The Harnett County Sheriff's Office and the North Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating after a man was found dead early Monday.

Deputies said the body of 41-year-old James Robert Knox II, of Spring Lake, was lying in the roadway in the 200-block of Sanderfer Road, close to Bunnlevel.

The discovery was made around 3:30 a.m.

Investigators said the exact cause of death was not known and an autopsy was pending.
