Troopers looking for driver in Harnett County fatal hit and run
BUNNLEVEL, NC (WTVD) -- The North Carolina Highway Patrol is looking for tips in a fatal hit and run July 4th.
The body of 41-year-old James Robert Knox II, of Spring Lake, was found lying in the roadway in the 200-block of Sanderfer Road, close to Bunnlevel around 3:30 a.m.
Troopers said they've learned Knox and a woman were at the C&G Country Club located on US 401 when they left the establishment with a friend who offered them a ride.
According to the female acquaintance and friend, an argument occurred between woman and Knox. Knox then got out the vehicle on Raynor McLamb Road and decided walk to the remainder of the way.
A short time later, his body was discovered by a passing motorist.
