Girlfriend facing murder charges in Butner shooting

BUTNER, N.C. (WTVD) -- Police are investigating a homicide after a man was found shot to death inside a home in Butner Monday.

Shortly after 5:30 p.m., police were called to the 500 block of East F Street.

When officers arrived, they found 53-year-old William Albert McMillan dead from a gunshot wound to the head.

Police say they've responded to domestic dispute calls at the home several times in the past.

Authorities arrested Williams' girlfriend, 52-year-old Mildred Michelle Hinton-Davis, at the scene after she called 911 to report the incident. A handgun was also found inside the home.

Hinton-Davis has been charged with second-degree murder and is being held in the Granville County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
