Man found dead after Carthage fire

CARTHAGE, NC (WTVD) -- A man was found dead following a fire in Carthage early Thursday.

Firefighters said the home on East Saunders Street was fully ablaze when they arrived.

It happened around midnight.

A body was found in the home after firefighters extinguished the flames.

The man's name has not been released.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
