CHARLOTTE, NC (WTVD) -- Video of a moment between a Charlotte police officer and a 2-year-old has gone viral.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says it happened around 10 a.m. Tuesday morning when Ornella Lenga-Bukasa pulled into a gas station.

Her daughter, 2-year-old Brianna, spotted a police cruiser and wanted to go over and check it out. Officer Ashley Brown was happy to give her a tour.

Speaking with FOX46, Lenga-Bukasa said: "It means everything to me personally because my husband and I are teaching her the importance of the police and that if she is ever scared of anything she could always run TOWARDS the police. So for Officer Ashley to welcome her the way she did proves us right. Especially with all the nonsense that is going on in regards to law enforcement, it's reassuring that there are a lot of amazing, passionate and hard working officers out there. And that's what we need to show our children all over America."
