Crane topples onto billboard in Durham

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Authorities in Durham responded to a crane collapse off South Miami Boulevard late Thursday morning after it toppled over onto a billboard.

It happened just after 11:30 a.m. along the westbound lanes of U.S. Highway 70 Bypass.

ABC11 has learned that Duke Energy was attempting to move the billboard in order to make way for new power lines when the mobile crane overturned. The power lines were not energized when the accident happened and no one was injured during the incident.
