Victim identified in fatal Durham wreck

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Durham police are investigating a deadly two-car traffic accident that happened Friday morning in the 1500 block of S. Roxboro Street near Moline Street.

Police identified the victim as Alta Ann Surles, 67, of Durham.

She was driving west on Moline Street when she was hit by a Buick Enclave going north on South Roxboro Street, according to police. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash happened at 7:40 a.m.

Authorities said Surles did not stop at a stop sign.

The driver of the second vehicle suffered minor injuries.

Police said no charges will be filed.
