Person killed in north Durham County crash identified

DURHAM COUNTY (WTVD) -- The North Carolina Highway Patrol says one person was killed early Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Range Road near Tom Jones Road in northern Durham County.

Troopers got the call just after 7 a.m. The driver, 49-year-old Paul Budd of Rougemont, ran off the right side of the road on a curve, overturned, and struck several trees. Budd died as a result of his injuries.

Investigators said Rudd was driving a Chevy Silverado pickup truck.
