A resident of the home told ABC11 that paramedics believed the driver, Robert Harrison Jr., of Franklinton, may have suffered some kind of medical condition which caused him to lose control on the vehicle.
Pictures from Chopper 11 HD show how the car went in the front of the home by the garage and out the back into the backyard of the home where it struck a tree.
At the time of the crash, police said the home was occupied by four people. One person, who was downstairs, received non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Duke Hospital.
Harris also received non-life threatening injuries and was also taken to Duke.
The house is condemned because it's structurally unsafe. Family members say it can be repaired and they feel fortunate that no one inside suffered life-threatening injuries.
The Red Cross is helping the family.
