MORRISVILLE (WTVD) -- Morrisville will swear-in its new police chief at a ceremony June 16.
Patrice Andrews will be sworn in at 6:30 p.m. that Thursday at Town Hall Council Chambers. The public is invited.
A community reception will follow, with light refreshment.
Andrews began her work with the Town of Morrisville on Monday. She was appointed police chief on April 18. Andrews is a former commander in the Criminal Investigations Division with the Durham Police Department.
Andrews, who was chosen for the job from more than 70 candidates, holds a BS in Criminal Justice from North Carolina Central University and was graduated from West Point Leadership Academy in 2011.
She brings nearly 20 years of experience and recently was graduated from the 263rd session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va.
