1 killed, 1 injured in reported shooting in Durham

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- A man was killed and a woman was injured in a reported shooting in Durham on Wednesday afternoon.



The shooting happened around 2 p.m. in a residential area in the 2500 block of South Roxboro Street near East Cornwallis Road.



Chopper 11 flew over the scene and spotted dozens of police cars lined up along South Roxboro Street.



ABC11 crews on the scene were also able to confirm that one person had died.



Later, Durham Police Department confirmed that the person who died was a man. In addition, police said a woman at the scene was also shot and taken to the hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.



The shooting does not appear to have been random, according to investigators.



One man was taken into custody and transported from the scene. Durham Police said he is charged with resist, delay, or obstruct.



The investigation is still ongoing, police said and no further information was available.
