GARNER, N.C. (WTVD) -- Officials with Wake County Schools said a lockdown at East Garner Elementary School has now been lifted. The code yellow lockdown began at approximately 2 p.m. Wednesday.
The school, which is near Jones Sausage Road and Interstate 40, was on lockdown after a suspect jumped from a vehicle and fled during a traffic stop.
The school dismissed students on time. However, parents were told to expect carpool and bus delays.
Students will be sent home with a letter providing more details.
