Train rolls over Elon student's foot; may need amputation

ELON, N.C. (WTVD) -- An Elon University student may have to have his foot amputated after it was run over by a train.

Police said it happened as the 21-year-old student tried to cross between two cars of a stopped train.

It occured around 12:15 a.m. Saturday at the railroad tracks at Lee and Lebanon avenues.

Police said that alcohol may be involved.
