RALEIGH -- With central North Carolina in a moderate drought, many homeowners are wondering when the best time is to overseed and aerate lawns for fall.
NC State's Daniel Bowman told us it's best to wait for likely rain if you can, but if you wait too long - like the end of October - then grass seedlings don't have enough time to establish themselves before the winter.
His best advice is go ahead and do it and keep your fingers crossed.
