RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The price of progress is costing Raleigh a longtime business.
Flythe Cyclery on Peace Street announced on its website that it's going out of business after 70 years.
The owner, Skip Flythe, states there are several factors to his decision including a multi-year road project in front of his store that could potentially make it difficult for customers to reach them. He said a plan to widen Peace Street is eliminating some of the store's parking spots.
And after 43 years at the helm, it's simply time to retire.
Flythe Cyclery will close at the end of August.
