Garner police have vehicle, ID in fatal hit and run

GARNER (WTVD) -- Garner investigators have located the driver and vehicle involved in a deadly hit and run last weekend.

Right now, the vehicle - a 2005 Dodge minivan, is being processed for evidence.

Police say 22-year-old Kayla Higgins was walking down Highway 70 early Sunday morning when she was struck.

A driver later spotted her body face down in a ditch.

Police have not named the driver. No charges have been filed.
